Hotel am Mirabellplatz | Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg ranks as one of the most beautiful cities that I have visited so far in my travels. Sometimes, nothing in the world can beat those gorgeous mountain views. If you are searching for a Salzburg hotel, I definitely have you covered!

HOTEL AM MIRABELLPLATZ

Our hotel for this journey to the gorgeous city of Salzburg was the wonderful Hotel am Mirabellplatz. This wonderful accommodation was in a very walkable location and was right around the corner from some great destinations. We were able to reach Fortress Hohensalzburg in around 20 minutes, or 1 kilometer. This was wonderful to me because when possible, walking in a new city is my absolute favorite way to see it!

The hotel has 70 guest rooms filled with charm. The lounge area was a nice touch, with free drinks readily available. After walking all over the city, it was so nice to be able to walk into the lounge and enjoy some juice or sparkling water for a bit.

At this hotel, I encountered some of the nicest and most helpful people at the front desk. They were full of recommendations and were overall very welcoming. The gentleman who checked us in did everything that he could to make sure that we had all of the information that we needed for this visit. Having this sort of helpfulness and welcome is a major bonus when traveling in a new city! They provided me with a map as well as some interesting things to do while in Salzburg with ease.

THE ROOMS

The room that we were given was quaint and comfortable. I loved the fact that the window opened so that I could let some cool mountain air inside of the room. This is always a major bonus in my book. No matter the weather, it is nice to be able to crack open a window for a nice breeze.

Many times, when rooms seem to be on the older side they may not be as comfortable. That was not the case at Hotel am Mirabellplatz! Everything in the room was just as comfortable as it was pleasant to look at. After traveling for several hours, arriving to a comfortable bed really helps you wind down and relax.

UNEXPECTED DELIGHTS AROUND THE CORNER

It was getting late, and we were getting hungry. After walking around the city all day, I didn’t really want to go too far to find food. I decided to explore the area near the hotel to see what was available.

Right around the corner from the hotel, we found a sushi restaurant that looked decent enough, so we decided to give it a try. The place was absolutely packed out, which we took as a good sign. It turned out the be the best sushi either of us had ever had! This will be a lucky experience that I won’t soon be forgetting.

Overall, this is a hotel that I highly recommend while visiting Salzburg. Between the helpful concierge, the comfortable rooms, and the proximity to many attractions, you really can’t go wrong here. Be sure to check out Hotel am Mirabellplatz for your Salzburg stay!

  1. Sheree – Cote d'Azur – I'm a sports mad Englishwoman, now living (thank goodness) in France, who developed a passion for cycling rather late on in life. I started the blog to keep my friends and family up-to-date with my adventures on two wheels, my recipes, my travels and my wonderful life in France. The title of my blog refers to when I first started cycling with my local club. I was always at the back of the bunch, until I slid off it on the first incline! On short climbs I could always catch back up on the ascent but on long climbs......I just used to bid them farewell and continue at my own speed. My cycling’s now much improved but I still get dropped!

  2. Alice DeForest – Coastal Georgia and South Caroina – Sending a smile to brighten your day. Since retiring from a successful real estate career, I am out and about exploring. I live on the SE Coast of the United States, and love the marshes, swamps and beaches of Georgia and South Carolina. Historical sites are also some of my favorite places, and I love sharing them with all of you. I'll do my best not to keep things interesting and bring you along on all my travels.

  3. latenyte – I am new to photography and don't have the means for a proper photography education. I wanted to publish my journey, whether successful or not, to demonstrate that if you want something you can have it. You just have to work harder than others.

I love Salzburg. The mountains are beautiful. The Sound of Music was also filmed there. I visited back in May for a couple of days and had a lovely time.
