Sometimes the best way that you can see Colorado isn’t by foot but instead by wheels, and we aren’t talking about hopping in the car for a ride! Cycling around Colorado can be a great option for you because it allows you to see more of the area in a shorter space of time. You can enjoy so much with the state who invented mountain biking and you can really see why this is the ideal place to be on your wheels this summer.

On the water

For a more relaxing day out in Colorado, instead of spending the day hiking in the mountains you can view them below and have a boat ride along the shore. This can be the ideal way to spend the day with your loved ones and it can be also great to bring a picnic along with you for afterward! You’ll see the landscape from a completely new point of view and it can be the most magical feeling in the world. And, if you want to make things more interesting you can always bring along a water skier with you and have some fun with the kids.

Hit some balls

Something you might not know about Colorado is that it is at a high altitude, and as a result of this you will be able to hit balls a lot further than you would in a normal setting. So if you enjoy playing golf each week, this can be the ideal place to try out your skills and have some fun! Your balls will fly so much further and you’ll feel like a pro in no time. It can be a great place to teach your partner or the kids how to swing and can be a good activity for a Sunday afternoon.

  1. kagould17 – Not much to tell. After working for 3 companies over 43+ years (38 years 7 months with my last company), I finally got that promotion I had waited my entire career for……retirement. I have been exploring this new career for the past 7+ years and while it is not always exciting, the chance to do what I want for myself and my family instead of what my company wants has been very fulfilling. Early on, there was a long list of projects in my “to-do” hopper and I attacked these projects with a vengeance for the first 9 months of retirement. Eventually, my brain told me that this was not what retirement was about, so it took me another 5 months before my industriousness again took over and I attacked another line of projects, this time somewhat shorter and less complicated, as well as many new projects related to the family weddings in 2016. After going hard for 6 weeks and 3 weddings, my body was telling me to relax, then the flu bug hit and as soon as that was done with me, my sciatic acted up. No rest for the wicked. In 2020 and 2021, the Covid 19 pandemic changed the whole retirement gig. I was lucky to not be still working, for sure. I enjoy photography, gardening, working with my hands, walking, cycling, skiing, travelling, reading and creating special photo and video productions obtained in my first pastime. I may never become wealthy in any of these pursuits, but I already feel I am rich in life experiences far beyond any expectation.

  2. Definitely the Durango and Silverton.

  3. Having lived in Colorado for 17 years, before moving to AZ, I can attest there are some amazing experiences to be had in CO. So many people think of it only as a ski and snowboard mecca. Truth is, there’s much more after the snow has melted. Fall hikes and drives were among my favorite activities.

  4. Thanks for this post! I’m planning to go to Colorado, do you think winter is a good time?

  5. jackandgabexplore – Hi! We’re Jack and Gab, an adventure-loving couple living in San Diego, California. We love eating international foods, traveling to new places, and experiencing different cultures. To share our passion for food, travel, and other cultures with the world, we began taking pictures, filming, and writing about all of our incredible adventures. Last year, we made a huge change and moved across the country to start a life in San Diego. Making this move was a big risk, but we immediately fell in love with our new city. At first, we just explored San Diego and the surrounding areas in Southern California. Today, we’re lucky enough to travel the world and see some of the most beautiful places on the planet. We feel so humbled that we are in a position to explore the world, and our hope is that documenting our travels and experiences will inspire others to do the same. Through exposure to different people, places, and perspectives, travel can make us all better people.
