If you want to go on a vacation but you are having a hard time choosing a hotel, you are not alone! Many people find themselves in this situation every single year and it is very easy to overspend if you are not sure what you want or need. If you want to find a great hotel without the stress or the constant worry of overspending, read on!

A 5-star hotel won’t mean a whole lot if the amenities they have just don’t interest you. Before you go out and search for various accommodations, you need to make a list of all the things you need to enjoy your stay. For example, if you enjoy sitting in quieter, more informal restaurants, then you may want to opt for a hotel that is able to offer this. If you want somewhere that has an interior design that is way over the top then there are plenty of hotels that can provide you with this, and even though they may not have a ton of stars next to their name, it could still be your dream accommodation. For example, a lovely hotel in Kingsland, Georgia would be Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Kingsland.

Know the Amenities

Some of the most important amenities that a hotel can offer include accessible parking, a good breakfast, good WiFi, and air-conditioning. If your hotel is able to provide all of this then you certainly have a winner. These four things are what people seem to complain about the most, so if your hotel offers them all and they have good reviews then you know that you won’t have any issues at all when the time does come for you to stay there. Before you commit your hotel, make sure that the breakfast is free if that is what you are looking for, because the fact that they offer breakfast does not automatically mean that it is free!

Always Check the Map

Choosing your ideal hotel can be very dependant on location. If you have no idea where your hotel is then you may not be as inclined to go out and explore. You also won’t be happy when you arrive are the things that you want to do are not close at all. If the hotel says that a sight is very close to the place you’ll be staying, then make sure that you look into this. After all, “close” to one person may be a 5-minute walk, and “close” to another may be a 20-minute train ride. By knowing this information you can know for sure whether or not the hotel is a good option for you and it will also help you to make the best possible decision when it comes to your stay in general. If you are finding it hard to really choose the right hotel or if you are struggling to find one in a good location, then consider going on Google Maps and searching for hotels near the sights you actually want to go and see. This can be very useful and give you a great feel for the area in general!

  1. Great post. The most important things we look for in a hotel are parking (if we opt to rent a car) and air conditioner. We prefer to have breakfast elsewhere and since we only use the hotel to shower and sleep Wi-Fi is not that important to us. If possible, we prefer hotels with no yucky carpets.

  2. I loved your tip to check the map and make sure it’s close to the places you want to visit. My dad wants to have a big family vacation, so these tips will help us find great hotels. I’ll be sure to share these tips with him.
