Most recently, the Legacy Museum has opened in the city, a museum highlighting the slave trade and the lynchings which occurred in the state.

3. Demopolis

Demopolis is a great city which is worth a stop on your tour of Alabama.   1. Like music?: Visit Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia and Florence. Home of Fame Recording Studios, W.C. Handy Festival and in Tuscumbia, birthplace of Helen Keller where they do an annual production of The Miracle Worker. Great area to visit!
