This December, I had the pleasure of traveling to the Netherlands for the first time. Naturally, Amsterdam was the first city I wanted to visit!
The Amsterdam Teleport Hotel is a short 5-minute train ride to the Amsterdam Centraal station, where you can go to and explore this beautiful city. You can walk to the local train station from the hotel within around 4 minutes. I found this to be a very convenient bonus.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by one of the friendly staff members at the front desk. He helped us get checked in, gave us a map of Amsterdam, answered any questions that we had, and then pointed us towards our hotel room.
Every staff members that I interacted with at the Teleport was both very friendly and knowledgeable about the city. If you need any recommendations for restaurants, things to do, coffee shops, nightlife, or anything else you can think of, these are the best people to ask!
Many of the rooms at the Teleport Hotel have beautiful and unique street art on the walls! Seeing this for yourself is a really cool experience. You can really see and appreciate all of the little details that go into these wall art pieces. Each room also comes with its own private bathroom, which may be inside of your room or right out in the hallway.
Our room was very comfortable and our private. The beds were great to take a nice rest in after a long day of exploring. I was completely satisfied with everything about our room, which is always a great benefit.
There are two buildings that consist of the hotel. The building with the reception desk is always staffed, and the other building requires a key card to enter. I never felt unsafe during my time at the hotel. Both the hotel itself and the surrounding area seem to be very safe. Everyone I encountered both inside and outside of the hotel was very friendly and welcoming.
Some other amenities include:
- Free WiFi
- 24/7 game room
- 24/7 fitness room
- 24/7 homemade pizzas
- 24-hour reception
- Bike rentals € 15 per 24 hours
- Breakfast between 6:30-11 am for € 9.5 per person
Renting a bike is something that is highly recommended around Amsterdam. It is a great way to get around! Another bonus of renting a bike: you can join their free alternative bike tour which takes place daily. This is a great way to get your bearings around the city as well as a great opportunity to see some of the amazing street art around the area.
I would like to recommend when booking this hotel, you do so directly from their website. Doing this will not only ensure that you get the best rate possible, it will also give you free parking, free late checkout, and a free snack and drink upon your arrival. It’s basically a win-win when booking from their site!
If you are planning a trip to Amsterdam, you can see that hotels that are located in the middle of downtown are quite expensive. The Amsterdam Teleport Hotel is not only affordable, but you can also get to those same downtown areas within 10 minutes! The hotel is quiet, comfortable, artistic, fun and private. I basically couldn’t have asked for anything more in a hotel during my first trip to Amsterdam!
I hope that YOU have a Happy New Year. Enjoy Amsterdam. Wish I was there. May you enjoy your toes in the… snow.
Happy New Years!! 🎉✨
How did you feel about the large lady looming over you on the wall while you were having a coffee? I like the image, but would feel a bit unnerved sat there I think!
Haha it honestly didn’t bother me! My husband woke up once a bit startled, but only for a second 😄 I think once you’re sitting directly by it it’s more of just the awesome colors you see and not necessarily a person! 😊
I panic myself if I find a full length mirror in a hotel room, thinking it is a real person…. I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to have slept at night!
What a great overview of this hotel! One of these days we’re going to make it to europe and then the fun will begin 😄 I’ll make sure to jot this down so I don’t forget.
You definitely wouldn’t regret staying here! It was perfect for our time in Amsterdam 😄
It has been 40 years since I went to Amsterdam at 22 years of age. It must be very different now! Is there still a red might district?:)
Yes it is still there! The area felt quite safe. Hopefully you can return one day 😄
