Chicago and Riot Fest Day 2

The morning after my first day at Riot Fest I was pretty much exhausted. It was hotter than we expected the day before, and that alone can really drain your energy. It was set to be just as warm for the last two days of the festival, but I felt better prepared after my day one experiences.

We got to Douglas Park at around 12:30 this day. Before we headed out, we walked down the street from our Airbnb and went to a Restaurant called Harvey’s. The reviews online said not to let the fact that it is attached to a gas station stop you from going there, so we didn’t. The food was very good and quite reasonably priced as well.

Then, we took a Lyft to the park. Since we knew our way around somewhat, we felt a little more comfortable going into the park this day. We figured out where the actual entrance was, and had our driver drop us off much closer than we were the day before.

We went to the water station to fill up our bottles, then we were off to see the bands.

On Riot Fest Day 2, I saw: The Smith Street Band, Dead Cross, Fidlar, a glimpse of Bad Brains and Danzig, Mike D, New Found Glory, a little bit of Wu-Tang Clan, and Queens of the Stone Age.

This day was definitely busier than the first for me in terms of the amount of bands that I wanted to see.

Fidlar was probably my favorite of the day. They had so much energy on stage and they put on an awesome show.

We didn’t have Lou Malnati’s for a third time this day (previous post). There were a variety of food trucks at the park, offering everything from Chinese food to vegan grilled cheese’s, so we didn’t get too crazy with any local Chicago food this day.

My favorite day of Riot Fest was definitely the last day. Day 3 info along with Riot Fest tips will be available in my next post!
